Android the next generation Mobile Phone by Google

Android Derived from "andros" (greek for "man") and "eides" (greek for "of the species; alike"), was first mentioned by Albertus Magnus over 700 years ago. In a modern understanding, android is a robot designed to resemble a human, usually both in appearance and behavior.

But we have a new terms for Android here, an Open Source Mobile System developed by Google.

Google, the giant internet company, along with 33 mulitiscipline companies made a giant consortium named Open HandSet Alliance (OHA). This consortium, OHA then launched the Android.

Android promises the future mobilephone to less price and better, also android is claimed as a capable strength to taylor a better future mobile phone.
The Android is phisycally drawn as a Linux based gadget, hence softwares inside the Android can be developed by anyone that fluent in Linux.

Operating system inside almost all of mobile phones available nowadays, such as Windows Mobile, Symbian and Palm are Licensed Operating System and not an Open Source OS. Google and OHA see that mobile phone might have a better future while it is designed in Open Source platform.

Unfortunately, not all mobile phone available in market supports the Operating System. User have to buy a new mobile phone that supports OHA's operating system to feel and use features and powers of the next generation smart mobile phone.

So, how about the Symbian, Palm, Windows Mobile, and Blackery's based mobile phone ? They will continue to extend their esistence, but of course they all have a potential threat .. Android.

World's First WCDMA/GSM Dual Mode Phone

Another dual mode phone has been launched by TechFaith, a Communication Company that based in China. This World's first WCDMA/GSM dual mode phone features a 2.0 MP camera, 2.8 touch sensituve TFT-LCD display, WCDMA modem and all standard features that owned by typical cellphone.

The distinct feature between this gadgets and Samsung cellular phone is the ability of loading dual GSM SIM card if user prefer both GSM network instead of GSM + WCDMA network.
